This setting instructs RockSolid to monitor all key instance, database and server level performance indicators. This includes data feeds gathered by WMI, TSQL and Performance Monitor sources.
The inclusion of performance data in the monitoring set should be enabled when RockSolid is monitoring and alerting key production systems. Due to the volume of data monitored it may be desirable to disable this setting in certain limited scenarios including:
- When monitoring DEV systems where performance detail is not required (recommended to enable for pre-production test).
- For large deployments of SQL Server supporting POS systems. In this scenario, typically performance profiles can be gathered from a single instance and does not require monitoring performance of all nodes.
- When RockSolid is providing limited functionality, such as database recovery and maintenance job deployment.
