HOW TO: Detect missing database backups over a specified time period

RockSolid has the ability to detect many backup and recovery related issues including:

  • Backup failures
  • Backups not run within a specified window
  • Full Backups not run within a specified time period

 

Full Backups not run within a specified time period

RockSolid can be configured to raise service requests for backups not run within a specific time period.  This is specific in the database hierarchy and is measured in hours.

To configure navigate the appropriate level in your database hierarchy:

  • Navigate to the Recovery tab
  • Set "Max Full Backup Latency" to On
  • Specify backup latency in hours (e.g. "24" hours)
